Creating an automation template allows you to save the configuration of an existing automation and reuse it when creating new automations. This is useful when you have a standard automation setup that needs to be applied across multiple workspaces or repeated for different folders or data sources.

Save an automation as a template

To save an existing automation as a template:

  1. Navigate to the Automations module in your workspace.

  2. Find the automation you want to save as a template in the automations list.

  3. Click the action menu (three dots) on the automation row.

  4. Select "Save as template" from the menu.

Note: The bot should have the necessary workspace permissions to execute the automation within, and across workspaces.

The automation's configuration including its trigger type, outcome type, and settings, will be saved as a reusable template.

Load a template when creating a new automation

To load a new automation from a saved template:

  1. Navigate to the Automations module in your workspace.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow next to the "+ New automation" button.

  3. Select "Load template" from the dropdown menu.

  4. Choose the template you want to use.

The new automation will be pre-configured with the triggers and outcomes from the template. You can adjust the specific details such as the source folder, target folder, automation user, and other settings before saving the automation.
